Website Maintenance and Operations - HHS
Glynn Technologies Handling of Web Site Maintenance and Operations for Health and Human Services (HHS)
Glynn was awarded a multi-year contract by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to conduct the web operations and maintenance for the hhs.gov website, its operating divisions, and other tools. Glynn conducts updates and maintenance using a variety of enterprise content management solutions. Applications and maintenance efforts follow the department's web style design and technical standards, e-government guidelines, and Section 508 accessibility standards.
Challenge:
HHS is responsible for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services, especially to those who are least able to help themselves. To fulfill this critical mission, HHS needed a reliable method of creating, publishing, and maintaining the content and applications of its public websites, including hhs.gov, psc.gov, surgeongeneral.gov, usability.gov, and smallpox.gov.
Solution:
HHS chose Glynn Technologies to provide unified web support and maintenance. Glynn teams are located at two HHS sites to ensure immediate and accurate responses to the needs of the Department. Glynn personnel are scheduled to cover the hours of operation, and emergency plans are in place to support extraordinary needs.
Approach:
Glynn established a work plan that identifies the tasks each member of our team will be responsible for spearheading and other tasks they will conduct when there is additional time. These include:
- Daily site maintenance
- Development in HTML, ASP, CSS, XHTML, XML, PHP, and Oracle
- Google Search Appliance configuration
- RightNow customer service support
- WatchFire website element checking and issue resolution
- Documentation of software solutions, processes, and plans
- Web Trends usage reporting
- CVS file storage and tracking
- Help Desk maintenance support
- Unix web server environment integration support
