Glynn Technologies conducted a series of focus group and usability sessions aimed at determining how Medicare providers use the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' (CMS) Web site and online resources. The 100 study participants included the billing and administrative departments of hospitals, physicians, durable medical equipment (DME) providers, and home health agencies (HHA). In the sessions, Glynn led participants in discussions of their daily workflow, information needs, Web usage, use of resources outside of CMS, and impressions of the current CMS site. The feedback from the groups enabled Glynn and CMS to pinpoint navigational hurdles that were preventing users from finding needed information on the CMS Web site.
